Overall, Colorful Standard clothing is worth the price .
Indeed, the price of the pieces offered is correct for Portuguese manufacturing in organic cotton. For the merino pieces (hats, sweaters, etc.), the material comes from Italy and the wool is Woolmark certified, so the proposition is also honest. The clothes appear to be assembled in good condition and the cuts are suitable.
However, we note the absence of concrete certification relating to organic cotton. The only guaranteed ethical promise behind it is therefore the non-use of chemicals and GMOs during cultivation. No information on the origin of the cotton, nor on the processing conditions (respect for humans, carbon footprint, etc.), which is a shame given the proportion in which the brand communicates on the CSR dimension of its offer .
Also note that most clothes are piece dyed. This cheaper technique consists of directly dyeing the garment after making and not the thread or material beforehand. This can lead to uneven fading over time, particularly at the seams. Some will appreciate the authentic side of the finish, others will prefer uniform wear. It's for you to see.
