In fact, in January 2018 we released our very first white sneaker, which we have never re-released since.
It's FINALLY done, and for their return, we have made slight modifications.

Refine and purify
We decided to keep the speed hooks on this white model, because we found that they "dressed up" the pair. On the other hand, we have refined and simplified the back of the heel.
Note how the stitching points on the sole are close together, a detail that I really like!
That said, the fact of having changed the lining (I will come back to this) for vegetable tanned leather gives more uniqueness to the pair.

Better late than never
First of all, the million-dollar question: why couldn't we bring out our white sneakers sooner? Quite simply because the v1 leather reference was no longer produced by our previous supplier.
So we turned to Mastrotto, which is the same supplier we used for our Tokyo sneakers .
AN ITALIAN LEATHER FROM MASTROTTO
The leather comes from Mastrotto, a well-known Italian tanner. It is full-grain bovine leather, called “rectified”: this simply means that a film has been applied to give it its white color and “smooth” it.
On the environmental side, they are certified Gold level by the Leather Working Group , an organization which evaluates the environmental practices of tanneries, according to their in-house protocol . For example, it measures the quantity of recycled water produced, the energy required to tan a given quantity of leather, etc.
Gold certification means that tanneries have implemented industry best practices. Knowing that the protocol becomes more and more strict each year, this is a pretty good sign!

More vegetable tanned leather
A vegetable-tanned leather lining
Like any premium sneaker, this model is lined in vegetable-tanned leather. This is the kind of lining that I want to generalize in our sneakers. Indeed, since the leather in contact with your foot is tanned with only plant bark, this minimizes the risk of irritation as much as possible.
Having had a few pairs in the past with a vegetable-tanned leather lining, I noticed several things:
- it ages very nicely over time, with a unique patina, like all vegetable-tanned leathers,
- it is relatively breathable (I remind you that leather is a porous material), including in summer,
- it doesn't retain odors.
A Margom sole
What can I say about this sole that has obsessed me for over ten years? This famous sole that I saw on all luxury sneakers from 2008?
Margom is an Italian sole supplier, well known for the durability of its soles and the “firmness” of its rubbers. It is THE supplier who has given its letters of nobility to the soles of high-end sneakers, by stamping each sole with its logo as a guarantee of quality.
It is a venerable Italian SME almost 60 years old, with around thirty workers. It is thanks to this long experience in rubber that Margom has become a reference in high-end soles.

Wear them with everything
With an olive parka and bleached jeans
There is no shoe easier to match than white sneakers. Take the opportunity to wear them with light jeans and an olive parka.
With wool pants
I'm a big fan of the wool pants + minimalist sneakers combination, because I really like this style mix.
Always to have fun with contrasts, these rather elegant wool pants are contrasted with a more sportswear hoodie.
