I'm opening this new season of Gimmick with a special episode, since our editor-in-chief, Christophe , challenged me to decipher my own mid-season looks . The idea here is to give you a little inspiration for the coming fall, but also to explain to you how I put together my outfits.
1 - 70s inspiration
This first look is based on a very simple base: shirt + jeans. The shirt is vintage, in viscose, with a light plumetis on the fabric and very wide balloon sleeves. I tucked her into high-waisted jeans from Levi's, a model called 70's High Flare , inspired by models from the seventies .

Accessories are everything. To start, the multicolored sleeveless vest - a piece that is handmade, crocheted, and which really dates from the 70s . I also opted for a large black wool hat and black Minuit sur Terre ankle boots for a rock touch. I also have hoop earrings with small pearls, which come from a Made In France brand called Gisel B.
The bag is also there again, it is a vintage piece dating from the 70s. It is white, in imitation leather, in a fairly rare shape and really typical of this era: it is flat and trapezoid, with the handle directly cut out in the bag with a metal structure.
2 – The gingham trench coat
The central piece of this look is this very long and oversized trench coat with a gingham print . It is vintage and dates from the 80s. It is a very airy, very fluid piece, with which it is interesting to contrast with structure . Underneath, I'm wearing a Le Mont Saint-Michel jumpsuit in very thick cotton, enhanced with a cognac leather belt, which is also vintage .

To continue playing with materials , after cotton and leather, I added a touch of raffia with this little Longchamp bag. As it is clear, this also brings a touch of light to a rather dark whole.
Finally, I wear the same Minuit sur Terre ankle boots as the previous look . They are made of vegan leather, and create continuity with the black jumpsuit, without distracting attention from the trench coat.
3 - The two-taste look, burgundy + orange
This third look is carried by two fairly strong colors, orange and burgundy , which I contrasted. I'm wearing the same Levi's jeans as in my first look, combined with a psychedelic print shirt , in recycled viscose, very comfortable.
As its patterns are burgundy, I made a recall with the burgundy vinyl jacket. It's an old Claudie Pierlot jacket that I recently sold, because to be honest, its quality was ABOMINABLE: the varnish was crumbling at the collar, in particular.

Vintage touch: the Pierre Cardin belt with the gold buckle. I also made a recall of gold with ankle boots - Minuit Sur Terre again - it's a brand that I really like because it is comfortable, affordable and eco-responsible .
To finish, I added a touch of orange with the bag . The latter comes from a very small French brand called Nos Imprudences, it is handmade from upcycled silk taffeta . On the other hand, the silk on the vinyl, well it just slid! So I don't recommend this combo at all.
4 - Striped pants, for a rock star look
For this fourth look, I played on the juxtaposition of two fairly strong pieces . To start, the green blazer, with its big brown buttons. It's a vintage Givenchy, found for less than 10 euros at Guerrisol, a thrift store in Paris. Then, these striped flared pants, ultra high waisted, very retro as I like. The green stripes on the pants are the same green as the green on the blazer. That’s good: I love the reminders of color.

Under the jacket, I put on a high-neck sweater in very fine, beige merino wool: I find that it softens the rest, since the rest of the colors are very, very saturated , especially since I am wearing an orange-yellow bag . The latter comes from the Valet de Pique brand.
Final touches: the black leather belt and the pointed patent ankle boots. As the rest of the look was quite masculine, I found it rather cool to add a pair of very high, very pointed heels, to break it all up a little .
