Today’s Vintage

To go beyond the simple cotton piqué polo, there’s the knitted polo, which is more elegant.

And to take it a step further than the plain knitted polo, we designed this one with wide vertical stripes in organic, harmonious tones of terracotta, olive green, and cream.

This type of wide-striped polo first appeared in the 1960s and 1970s in the West: in Britain (with the Mod style), in Italy (with the Riviera look), and even in the United States.

Take a look, for instance, at the characters played by Ray Liotta in Goodfellas, Viggo Mortensen in Green Book, or Jude Law in The Talented Mr. Ripley—each of them wears colorful striped polos of this kind.

Beyond its unique look, the vertical stripes also help elongate and subtly slim your silhouette.

True to our love of texture, we crafted the front of this polo in a thicker jersey knit which contrasts with the sleeves and back, knitted in a finer, softer jersey.

The collar, meanwhile, is made in a dense Milano stitch, giving it excellent structure and hold in any situation.

How to Wear It

Play with contrast by pairing this terracotta polo with shades of blue, grey, or brown.

You can also create color echoes, for example by wearing ecru trousers to echo the cream stripe, or throwing on a khaki jacket to extend the olive green stripes.
