Do you know how to subtly wear the check pattern? – Panache S03E05

Savez-vous porter subtilement le motif carreaux ? – Panache S03E05

I realized something.

That check is perhaps the first pattern you try when you feel strong enough to take stylistic risks. And often, it's a checked shirt. That was your case, right?

Come on, tell me I'm right, it'll warm my heart just before the season when we receive gifts that are way off the mark.

It’s no coincidence that it’s the checked shirt: they’re everywhere in the collections!

It's the famous lumberjack shirt that has been talked about in lengthy lapidary texts in GQ, the preserve of the hipster, the height of virility for others, aesthetic interest for the latter.

For me, the plaid shirt echoes Americana and I recommend finding vintage ones from Woolrich , Pendleton , LL Bean , and Filson ; you can find them at Brut for example.

But it's not really a subtle way to wear plaid. And it's neither good nor bad, it's just that I find that plaid when it's very contrasting, or when you wear it on the top piece, tends to eat up the rest of the outfit.

We become a walking tile pattern.

We become its connotations.

We dress up a little.

And I don't want you to be disguised, do you hear me???? Well, since it's clear between us and about my excess of zeal towards you, we can meet up in this new episode of Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-panache!

“Clothes are there to have fun, so have fun” is the phrase I say the most in my videos. Style is not a set of rules, it is a field of possibilities. You can wear anything, you just have to find your way!
