The specifications
Over the last few years, in our fall/winter pieces, there is one material that you have particularly loved: wool jersey , and more precisely boiled wool jersey (I'll come to that in a moment).
Its interest? To be able to offer you warm pieces without being too thick , which allows you to slip them into a wide variety of outfits.
Romain, a newcomer to the team since September, says hello. He is wearing a Shiraya shirt and Renji jeans .
We love this material so much that we wanted to explore a new form , halfway between:
- the practicality of an overshirt,
- the usefulness of a work jacket,
- and the purity of a cardigan collar.
You can also consider this jacket as an excellent fall/winter mid layer , an extremely useful piece thanks to its thermal properties and its pockets which make it very functional on a daily basis.
But before going into detail, let's see where the material of this jacket comes from, which is then assembled in Portugal...
A rather special wool jersey…
Material-wise, it's the same wool jersey as our Milo overshirt : boiled wool, spun and knitted in Italy by Manifattura Tesstile Toscana , with a weight of 306 g/m2 .
Here are the advantages of this material :
- the fact that it is mesh gives a very comfortable natural elasticity , like a sweater or a t-shirt, unlike a woolen sheet,
- It is a dense and compact knit, which keeps you warm without being too thick , perfect against cool breezes,
- and finally, the thermoregulatory properties of wool allow this piece to be worn indoors without suffocating
In short, it's a perfect material for fall/winter !
A jacket without a collar, why?
If you look at this jacket, you immediately see that there is no collar , unlike the Milo.
His absence is very interesting for two reasons :
- it is more practical for layering , especially for wearing a coat over it, because there is no collar to interfere with the outerwear worn over it,
- This highlights your shirt collar worn underneath!
In short, it's up to you to explore all the possibilities!
Four exterior pockets
Drawing its influences from workwear , this jacket has 4 patch pockets that are extremely useful for everyday use, for carrying headphones, a few papers, a mask, etc.
We didn't put a button (if you really want buttoned pockets, head to the Milo) because we wanted a more refined design , going to the essentials , like on a work jacket.
Personally — and like blazer patch pockets — this is what I prefer, because it's much easier to slip or retrieve an object from a pocket. Don't hesitate to play with it by adding a more visual element, like a scarf or a pair of gloves that are slightly overflowing!
