Matthew Cookson

Our opinion

Generally, Matthew Cookson shoes are beautiful products, well constructed, well finished and very pleasant to wear. The British style is well mastered, sometimes with some slightly eccentric bi-material or colorful models.

However, the prices are rather high compared to the competition. You must therefore come across an original model that cannot be found with another shoemaker to take the plunge.

On the other hand, Matthew Cookson is a good alternative for anyone looking for high-end slippers even if again, the models are expensive...

FYI, the brand offers ideas for shoe/suit combinations in the Wicket catalogs, in partnership with this brand.

Some collaborations have also appeared in recent seasons between these two very complementary brands for a very formal look.

The history of the brand Matthew Cookson

Matthew Cookson is a subsidiary of Shipton and Heneage for the French market.

The products offered are a little more expensive than those of the parent company, but certain models are unique and specific to the French brand.

Matthew Cookson produces almost exclusively shoes, oxfords, derbies, ankle boots and moccasins, entirely in leather. The general style of the shoes is very “British” or even dandy .

There are also a few pairs with rubber soles, usually in whimsical and colorful styles.

Finally, Matthew Cookson offers high-end tailor-made slippers, with a wide choice of colors and embroidered patterns.
